Redneck Paradise and a flashback to my childhood
This past week was the famous redneck event in Uptown Charlotte called Speed Street. This is where Food Lion blocks off many of the busiest streets in Charlotte to bring in a festival for the Nascar fans of the world. Its Redneck heaven. You have never seen so many wife beaters, mullets, and trailer park trash in all your life. With all the people running around uptown, the bars get hot girls to walk around to promote their establishments. This one I found particularly trashy.

Sorry the picture is blurry, I took this picture while I was walking on my cell phone. But if you look closely you can see that they are wearing bikini tops and skirts that are about 4 inches long. There were also about 10 guys walking behind them snapping pictures.
The only good thing about Speed Street are the late night concerts. I was most excited about the Thursday night concert. I'll talk about that one in a minute. On Friday there was Twisted Sister. I am not a huge fan of them, I only knew one song before I went, but they put on a great show. By far the best show of the weekend. Dee Snider was glammed up. If you have never seen him dressed for concerts google it and check it out. Its awesome.
On Saturday there were two good bands, Gin Blossoms and REO Speedwagon. So I got my acid wash jeans out and partied down.
But the headliner to me was Thursday. The big name that night was one MC Hammer. Yes, the MC Hammer of mine and probably your youth. I was pumped up for two weeks for this concert. The concert did not live up to the hype I gave it because he decided to do more songs from his new album, instead of his old stuff. The great thing about this concert though was that when he came out, he had a huge rip in his pants, no they were not parachute pants....they were black dressy pants. This rip was all the way up the side to his crotchal region. He didn't realize this at first, and in fact danced his first song with a clear shot of his tighty whiteys. Then at the very end of this song, i guess the dancing was too much for his underwear to hold, and I got a clear shot of Hammer's little hammer. Truly a night to remember.
Also the trip to NYC was fun. We sat in the third row for Conan O'Brien and in the worst possible seats for Letterman. We were also in NYC during the David Blaine crap. That was lame but we did get to see the Manhattan Temple, which is right next to Lincoln Center. Once again its a picture from my camera phone but you get the idea.
